Genesis 22:1-13 Progressive Baptist Church 

“And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him. Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off. And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you. And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together. And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

LEARNING TO PUT LOVE OVER LOGIC 

Intro:
A man was walking along a narrow path, not paying much attention to where he was going. Suddenly he slipped off the edge of a cliff. As he fell, He grab a branch growing from the side of the cliff. Realizing that he couldn’t hang on for long, he called for help.
Man: Is anybody up there?
Voice: Yes, I’m here!
Man: Who’s that?
Voice: The Lord.
Man: Lord, help me!
Voice: Do you trust me?
Man: I trust you completely, Lord
Voice: Good. Let go of the branch.
Man: What????
Voice: I said, let go of the branch.
Man: [after a long pause] Is anybody else up there!

We all laugh at this story, but truth be told, many if not most of us, have this exact same response when The Lord ask us to let go of something that we hold precious and dear to ourselves. It doesn’t have to be our life like the man in this story. 

Do yourself a favor this morning and don’t make God pry open your hands for something you should have freely let go of.

This is where we find ourselves at today in this particular pericope of passage!

Notice if you will the first sentence in verse 22; “Now it came about after these things”When ever you read these seven words it means there is a precursor to the text.

Here’s the thing ladies and gentlemen, God is about to test Abram, but this isn’t a pop quiz, it’s not a surprise test, it’s not something new or out of the ordinary. In fact Abraham had already been walking with God at least 35 yrs before he decided to give him this type of examine!And along the way God continued to show himself faithful, over and over again. 

This is what kills me about CHURCH FOLK, when a dilemma arises, and you decide to turn to the page of woe is me page. I can’t understand how you flip the script that quick, this ain’t the first bridge you had to cross, this ain’t the first time you’ve been on your sick bed, this ain’t the first time your money was funny and your change was strange, this ain’t the first time you lost a loved one. 

Corona ain’t the first Pandemic,

Trump ain’t the first prejudice

President,

Racism didn’t just recently rise up.

And let me just drop this in some perfect persons spirit, if this was your first time, it certainly won’t be the last!BUT RATHER YOU KNOW IT OR NOT, WE SERVE A GOD OF ENCORE  PERFORMANCE! Simply put, IF HE DID IT BEFORE HE’LL DO IT AGAIN! 

If you and I examine the resume of Abraham’s life, we will find that the last 39 chapters of Genesis concern themselves with Abraham and his seed. Covering some odd 350 years, in fact God gave us more details about Abraham than about the origin of the universe! 

In chapter 11 God spoke to Abraham told him to get out his Fathers house, and go to Canaan or the promise land. He first failed this test, for the Bible lets us know he took his Father with him and got bogged down in Haran. He probably would have been content in Canaan but God steps in, and his Father dies!

Abraham’s fathers name was Terah which means Delay, the city he got stuck in was Haran, which means Anger! HOW MANY OF YOU, HAVE GOD TOLD  TO MOVE OUT OF DELAY, PUT YOU ON A PATH TO YOUR PROMISE,  and somehow in the process of your promise, YOU GOT STUCK IN ANGER? If it pleases the court,  I withdraw the question, let’s move on. 

Again God shows up to Abram in Haran, tells him Take only your family, which now consist of, he and his wife, But watch chapter 13:1 And Lot his nephew went with him! Very key…..

Please hear me, some people are only clinging on to you, to get where your going! As a matter of fact, Lots name means Veil or Covering. Which means there are some Folks that attach themselves to us that are actually obscuring the view of the promise that God has for us!

PROGRESSIVE DO I HAVE A FEW FOLK IN THE HOUSE THIS MORNING THAT WILL ADMIT THEY NEED TO GET RID OF A LOT! Some of y’all need to have a LOT SALE! Watch this, if you can’t get rid of A LOT, if your uncomfortable having A LOT sale, then the only real solution is probably the easiest solution, TAKE THEM TO SAVE A LOT!

Over in chapter 15 God promises Abraham a son, even though his wife Sarah is Barren.   He at this point is 75 yrs old, but instead of waiting on the promise of God, he decides to get his wife’s servant Pregnant. His wife is barren, can’t have kids herself, she not only agrees but actually suggest this plan of action. The servant gets pregnant, now Abraham has a son everything is cool. RIGHT? WRONG!!!!!!!!!! BECAUSE THERE IS NO RIGHT WAY TO DO A WRONG THING!

Here’s the thing,  if you don’t have a Promise you end up settling for a Premise, which is an assumption that something is true! AND IF TRUTH BE TOLD, MANY OF YOU ARE LIVING ON A PREMISE AND NOT A PROMISE,PREMISE, that this is the job I’m supposed to have,PREMISE, this is the one I should marry PREMISE, this is the ministry I’ve been called to. Listen, You better be standing on the promises, and bypass  the premises!

Well how do you know that this wasn’t Gods will Pastor Jeff? I’m glad you ask. 1st of all he and Sarah end up having Isaac when Abram was 100 yrs old, second of all when you go back to our text in Gen. 22:2 watch the wording of God. “Take now thy son, thine ONLY son Isaac, whom thou lovest. What a minute, we just read he had a son by Hagar his name was Ishmael. How is Isaac his only son? God needs you to know today, that he rejects anything you try to birth out of the flesh, and try calling it Spiritual! That’s why you can’t just sing every song and call it God! That’s not a faith song it’s a flesh song!!!! That’s why you can’t just marry who you feel like marrying because they got money, or look good, THAT’S NOT YOUR WIFE , THAT’S YOUR WISH LET IT GO!  I heard the R&B singer, Usher say LET IT BURN, 

Okay, okay that’s toO new school, well my momma would play a record by Teddy Pendergrass that said, “Think I’d better let it go / Looks like another love / TKO”.

Teddy was saying the same thing Abraham was saying. That you’ve got to put Love over Logic.If you’ve studied the bible at all, you will  find that Love almost always defied Logic;1) It’s not logical for a Prophet named Hosea to marry a Harlot like Gomer. But Love says do it anyhow.2) It’s not logical for three Hebrew boys to walk into a fiery furnace, but love, says do it, I will be in there with you!3) It’s not logical for a Shepard boy like David, who couldn’t even fit in a uniform, to go up against a Giant like Goliath, but love says who is this uncircumcised philistine that comes against my God!Okay let me bring it home, it’s not logical for Sister Richburg to be 90 and still Praising and serving the a Lord,

It’s not logical that Brother Shannon got the issues he got in his back But still does the work he does around the church.

It’s not logical that even through a Pandemic God continues to add to the body such as should be saved!

BUT LOVE DEFIES LOGIC,

It wasn’t logical for Abraham to finally have his promised son and receive word from heaven to sacrifice him. But Abraham loved God more than he loved his child. And he wasn’t about to fail this test. IF YOU LOVE THE GIFT MORE THAN YOU LOVE THE GIVER, THAN THE GIFT BECOMES AN IDOL!

Abraham left a day after God commanded him, and it took three days to get to Mt. Moriah. Making it a total of a four day journey. This corresponds perfectly to Exodus 12:3, where the Passover Lamb was to be kept for four days before killing it!Abraham took with him,  two servants, one donkey, and his son Isaac; They get to the mountain he tells his two servants to wait with the donkey.( Don’t miss this teachable moment )EVERYBODY TRAVELING WITH YOU, ISNT AUTOMATICALLY QUALIFIED TO TAKE THE TEST WITH YOU! Some folk no matter how faithful they are to you, they don’t have the Love they need for you to over come logic! 

Listen Love, don’t have to make sense, as a matter of fact Faith is the substance of things that don’t make sense!

Notice in verse 5 Abraham says “The lad and I will go yonder and worship, and ( WE ) will come back to you.”Abraham had already  decided to sacrifice his son, but he also fully believed if he did sacrifice him that God was able to resurrect him!If he could believe God in the supernatural birth of his son, he could also believe in the supernatural resurrection of him!I’M PREACHING BETTER THAN Y’ALL SAYING AMEN 

If you believed God, for the dead marriage your in, believe him for the resurrection of that thing! If you believed God for the house and home you received, before you got laid off, took a pay cut. Believe Him for the resurrection of your finances! The bible says let the dead bury the dead, but there are some things you need to carry to the alter of sacrifice and have a resurrection service!

I’m just about done thank you for listening;

You all know the story Abraham and Isaac begin to climb the mountain, Understand Abraham is over a hundred yrs old, it is believed Isaac is about 14. Isaac looks to his dad and says “behold the fire and the wood but where is the lamb for a burnt offering” A LOST WORLD IS STILL ASKING, I SEE THE FIRE, I SEE THE WOOD, I SEE THE PROBLEMS, I SEE THE RACE ISSUES, I SEE THAT NEITHER PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE IS GREAT, I SEE THE DRUGS IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD, I SEE THE DIVORCE RATE IN AND OUTSIDE THE CHURCH, I SEE THAT INSTEAD OF GIVING OUR CHILDREN A GOOD WHIPPING WE’RE GIVING THEM RITALIN! BUT WHERE IS THE LAMB! Abraham responds “My son God will provide himself a Lamb for a burnt offering” .Abraham builds an altar, and his 14 year old obedient child allows his dad to tie him to it. The bible says he stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son”. Just then he heard an angle from heaven say HOLD UP WAIT A MINUTE, LET ME PUT SOME JESUS IN IT! And he provided a ram in the bush!

In other words, because of the obedience of Abraham he got heaven to pause on his behalf!And all I’m trying to tell you this morning PROGRESSIVE  is if you put Love over  Logic, heaven will pause on your behalf also!.,,,……………

That’s why without a car wash Deacon, all your bills still paid, because heaven paused on your behalf.

That why you went from riding a bike to driving a new car and working your dream job, brother Nate because heaven paused on your behalf.

Heaven paused on your behalf brother Edgar, that’s how you were able to drive all those years, and never get in an accident or get a ticket

If we continue to look at things logical. We will never see what the Lord is able to do;

It wasn’t logical for a staff to open up a enter see. It wasn’t logical for Daniel to spend the night with a hungry lion. It wasn’t logical that Elijah, to believe a small cloud would bring in abundance of rain. And it certainly wasn’t logical that one man would sacrifice his life, so the entire world would have the right to eternal life. BUT JESUS PUT LOVE OVER LOGIC.

FOCUS ON THE FATHERS

Luke 15: 17-20


“And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.”

My brothers and my sisters I submit to you today that The bedrock of the community is the family. There is an effect to Fatherlessness in general, but particularly in the African American household. children without a father are 5 times more likely to live in poverty, children without a father are 7 times more likely to commit a crime. A sad statistic is that 78 percent  of the men that are incarcerated don’t have a relationship with there Father! A person without a father is 9 times more likely to drop out of school, and 20 times more likely to end up in the penitentiary, young people who do not have a father present in there lives are more prone to have behavioral problems, and 7 times more likely to run away from home.

Here’s what I need you to hear this morning. Fatherhood is not defined by conception but rather by participation! 

There is no other Fight that I am more involved in, outside of saving souls, than the fight to Focus on  Fathers, in particular,  Black Fathers, and black males. 

‭WE FOCUS ON FATHERS,  Because I’ve been told quite frankly and repeatedly that the problems in our  black communities are Not the fault of biased, paramilitary, paranoid and violent policing. 
But because of the absence of Black fathers and black role models in the African American home. This is not only misleading but inaccurate and false.

WE FOCUS ON FATHERS, because statistics indicate that black people are three times more likely to be subject to law enforcement uses of force.  Maybe just maybe, it’s the fault of racist red lining that created these impoverished neighborhoods in the first place. Maybe it’s the fault of bigoted lending and hiring practices that create racist roadblocks for those attempting to escape those neighborhoods. Maybe it’s the fact that our school systems often times are failing our black children because black students are disciplined, suspended and expelled far more easily and quickly for the same or lesser offenses than their white counterparts!

WE FOCUS ON FATHERS, because the truth of the matter is  just because a mother may be single, when she gives birth, does in no way shape or form,  mean the Father isn’t present in the child’s life there after.  In fact statically 67 percent of Black dads who don’t live with their kids see them at least once a month, compared to 59 percent of white dads, and 32 percent of Hispanic dads. Truth be told, Black dads are even more likely to think it’s important to financially provide for their children. 

PROGRESSIVE WE FOCUS ON FATHERS, because  there are  myths make us out to be monsters, when really most of us are doing the best we can with the hand that was dealt. Fact is,  it’s hard for me to pay child support when the system has made it impossible for me to make a decent living. It’s difficult to give my children a bright future, when It’s hard for me to catch a break because of  recent priors. It’s a shame that I refuse tell my kids to stand for a flag that I served for,  because the leader of the free world won’t let us kneel down against police brutality!

SO ON THIS SPECIAL DAY, THAT WE GET ONCE A YEAR, WE FOCUS ON FATHERS,  because we are not all thugs, and we don’t all speak with a broken language and walk with a limp. We all don’t want white women, many of us like are melonated women with kinky hair, and big bones. 
(AMEN SOMEBODY)
And If we decide to move in your neighborhood it’s not to depreciate the value of your home, but to appreciate the value of our lifestyle. And of by the way, if we seem to be over zealous in our applaud to those black men who made it like Barack Obama,  it’s because we understand that they had to work a lot harder, speak a lot louder, move a lot faster, think a lot quicker, have thicker skin and shorter memory, than most of those they were going against!

The reason I focus on Black Fathers is because George Floyd, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Tamar Rice, Breonna Taylor, and Matthew Burroughs and so many others who have the same skin complexion of my children and Grand children, are being taking to soon, and then tried by the court of public opinion, as if we all haven’t at one time or another been a pre occupied Father or a Prodigal son!!!!!!!!!


Progressive and those of you visiting or watching via Facebook, This is where we pick up at in today’s text

This is a very recognizable scripture that we’ve come to call the parable of the prodigal son.
When we examine Lk 15 in its entirety we find 3 different parables about the lost and found. 

In the first we find a Sheppard who leaves the 99 sheep to go find the 1 that’s lost. And their has been much debate on whether it was justified to leave the 99 unprotected while he went to find the one. And how important the one is, and how we should never leave anyone behind. 

This my brothers and my sisters, this right here,  very much explains the Black Lives Matter Movement!

Yes all lives matter, but it’s the one race of colored folk, with a knee on their neck!

It’s us, not you that have to deal with Systemic and Structural and institutional racism!

But may  I suggest to you today on Fathers Day 2020,   that it is neither about the 1 nor the 99. But (Dig this) it’s about the whole! 
 And when the Father is not in the house their is a piece missing from the whole!

And I’m not down playing single motherhood and how great a job you all do! But that was not and is not Gods intended purpose for family.  Listen you don’t go to the store and buy a pie with a slice cut out. Truth be told it may still be good, it may even be discounted, but I’m not looking to buy anything incomplete!

Next we have the Parable of the lost coin, which is lost IN THE HOUSE! And the Bible says the Women sweeps the house and searches diligently till she finds it!

They come to church because they are forced to, or they are looking for a good wholesome women, while still being a whole whore themselves. And instead of Pastoring Apostle Paul’s we’ve got to deal with Forest Gump’s “Stupid is as Stupid does” LOST IN THE HOUSE

They show up for school everyday, not to learn, but to interrupt class, to use their desk as a pillow, to try and cheat their way through. Not understanding that they are sabotaging their own future. Lost In The House

For whatever reason they end up serving time, and instead of them being in prison, they all the prison to get in them! They become institutionalized, and repeat offenders. Now instead of living life they doing life. Lost In The The House 

Can I just toss this in the Gumbo for free?
What must be understood and realized is that our Women have put a value and a Worth on us that says I’m going keep looking for purpose in you, even if you don’t see it yourself!
 I understand you might be laid off and it’s hard to find a job, but I’m going to keep on believing in you and going searching indeed jobs dot com at the same time. 
And I get that your self esteem may be low, because your supposed to be the head of the house but you feel lost in the house, but I’m not giving up on you yet. Stand up black man. Iron your suit, put your power tie on, get your resume ready. Because of my faith God is about to turn your mess into a miracle!


EVERY BLACK MAN OUGHT TO GIVE OUR BLACK WOMEN A HAND CLAP OF PRAISE FOR HOLDING US DOWN!


And finally we have the story of the Prodigal son, where I need to parenthetically park for a few minutes.

Here’s a few problems with the parable , you can read it all when you get a chance. A father has two sons, one of his sons ask for his inheritance now. 

Two problems 
He wanted something he didn’t work for! And truth be told, one of our biggest problems as black men is we want something we haven’t worked for! Regardless if it’s breaking into some ones home and stealing what they worked hard for. Or if it’s a jack move. Trying to rob the dope man, when you ain’t the one standing on the corner risking your freedom. ( YES ITS WRONG BUT THE PRINCIPLE IS THE SAME!), Or you telling your child, I’m your Father, when you have never been in their life. “No your my daddy, my sperm donor” I don’t know you, you haven’t worked for that title. That 10 minutes in bed and a child support check does not earn you a lifetime worth of respect!
He wanted something he wasn’t willing to wait on! Listen inheritances only come after parents have passed on. The problem is we haven’t learned to wait. From the time we are born, we in a hurry to be grown, we in a hurry to have our own place, we in a hurry to have children, and all your really doing is setting yourself up for failure! Can I help the women out real quick? Must men wont even wait to put on a protection that’s why your a single parent right now!  You want to hurry up and have sex, but take your time in getting married. The devil is a liar!!!!  They that Wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength 

The Bible declares. He went and spent all he had only to end up with nothing! And more often than not when you don’t heed sound advice. You are heading to rock bottom! Listen you don’t need a Ashton Martin in an apartment complex, that’s unwise!
You don’t need a New out fit to go see Frankie Beverly and Maze! Maze going back to his mansion and you still got to call and set a payment plan on your electric bill. 

The Bible lets us know that after he was broke a famine in the land shows up. Somebody say when  it rains it pours! “And how went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into the fields to feed swine. And the NIV says he longed to fill his stomach with what the pigs were eating! MY GOD!
Isn’t it amazing that you can get so far away from the Father, that things that never attracted you before, now start to get your attention. 
You ain’t never liked alcohol, now all of a sudden you at the bar every night,
You ain’t never been promiscuous, now your a nympho
You ain’t never been a lier, now you wouldn’t know the truth if it bit you.
You would have never dated a drug dealer, now all of a sudden that’s yo boo thing! 
Please here me, WHENEVER I WOULD NEVER, BECOMES NORMAL, YOUR TOO FAR AWAY FROM THE FATHER!

Lord, I wasn’t raised like this, I don’t belong in this place! 
Dear God,  even my father’s hired servants, have it better than this, 
I need help Lord, because while I’m living with the swine, I should be chilling, high off the hog
Father,  when I look in the mirror, I don’t see the person You intended for me to be.
 I was brought up in the church, I was raised to love God. Forgive me, for failing you,

I’ve come to myself, and I’ve realized I’m not what they say I am, I’m not low down, I’m not a dead beat, I’m not thug life, I’m not an under achiever, I’m not an after thought. 
I am a child of the king, a royal priesthood,  a holy nation. A great person and an honorable man!


“And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, 
HIS FATHER SAW HIM, ………….

Even when your in the bed with the wrong person, God still sees you
Even when can’t stand your self, God still sees you,

Even when Elijah was under the juniper tree……
Even when David found himself in bed with Bathsheba………,,

Listen Brothers, men, Fathers, GOD STILL SEES YOU
Rather your in the valley, or on a mountain high, The Father sees you. 
Rather your looking for a spouse or praying about divorce, The Father sees you.
You can be laid off, locked up, left out, or feeling lonely. The Father sees you. 
For the Father so loved the world that He sent his only begotten son.

Lets Get the Haters Out The House

Acts 4: 29-31

“And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.”

Acts 4:29-31 KJV

How many of you will admit that you kinda miss Saturday morning cartoons, with a big bowl of cereal. For me there was nothing better, than happy days in my PJ’s, on Saturdays, eating Frosted Flakes, while watching what seemed to be endless episodes Super-friends, looney toons, fat Albert, the Flintstones and the Jetsons.

See back in the day we had cartoons with meaning. And many of them had a message and a motive, and of course where there was a Hero there had to be a HATER!

Popeye the Sailor man;……..

How about Scooby-Doo; ………

I can recall a few years ago they made a remake of the wiz! 

I was so happy that my son got to watch what we grow up on.

 But it didn’t go without haters having their say.  White America got upset because they remade the movie again with an all black cast!

Somehow they forgot, they forgot about us in the original wizard of oz, 

They forgot about sitcoms like Seinfeld and Friends, that had very little versatility.

But here is the thing Progressive, there is no other women in America, that will take on brothers with no brain, no heart, and no courage, and get them to their destination, but a 

But the cartoon I miss the most, that had the least words with the most meaning, was a cartoon simply called The Road Runner. ……..

In the text today, we are introduced to tree groups of haters!

1) The Priest, they were the chief priest who had special influence and were often close relatives of the high priest.

2) The “Captain of the Temple” he was the leader of the Temple guard, who were guarded and stationed around the temple to ensure order.

3) The Sadducee; they were members of a small but powerful Jewish religious sect who didn’t believe in the resurrection of the dead. 

All three were religious leaders who stood to gain financially by cooperating with the Romans 

The question now becomes where did this hate start. Well in order to understand the hate in chapter 4, you must first become aquatinted with the miracle in Chapter 3. We spoke about it last week,

That just went over somebody’s head, Let me say it again for my Facebook family.

A MIRACULOUS HEALING, DESERVES AN IMMEDIATE PRAISE,

You see he didn’t wait to get into the church. To praise God.

If all you got is a Sunday morning praise, I sorta doubt your relationship.

If the only time you dance, praise, pray, worship and cry is in church than the church probably ain’t in you!

Peter and John begin preaching and here’s what their saying. The miracles we preform is not based on any power we have.

But it’s based on the name of the one you arrested

It’s based on the name of the one you neglected 

And it’s based on the name of the one that’s resurrected!

And because they began to preach, about the resurrection they were immediately arrested, and they had to wait to go to court the next morning. Here’s where it gets good.

While they were in jail the church grew!

 THEY GREW THROUGH, WHAT THEY WENT THROUGH! 

Listen, we’ve got to get to the the point where we , DON’T ALLOW THE RISK TO OUTWEIGH THE REWARD!

You may not ever have to go to jail like Peter and John but there will be risk 

 VULNERABILITY;……..

REJECTION;…..

OSTRACIZED;……….

After  they were arrested three things needed to be dealt with back than, that will help us make church great again today.

POWER, PEDIGREE, PRAYER

POWER, verse 7 “By what power or name have you done this in? We are not beneifiting from this.“……….

Because folk ain’t impressed with your POWER, if their not persuaded by your love! 

And you can tell folk all the positions you hold, but if your not holding your heart in the right position. You’ve failed as a leader. And that’s not Power that’s dictatorship.

PEDIGREE, verse 13;  “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.”

We must learn to put fundamentals over flash. 

I’m so sick and tired of cookie cutter, watered down, bubble head, limp wrist, do what you want, word! 

I need a message that was birthed from the school of hard knocks that’s going to challenge me, and change me. That’s going to move me and not manipulate me.

Have you been with Jesus!

PRAYER, verse 29

“And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,”

LORD YOU’VE HEARD THE HATERS, NOW SEND THE HELP! 

THIS PROGRESSIVE IS HOW WE MAKE CHURCH GREAT AGAIN.
